| Please read: I have decided to start using "Theme's" for naming of the litters. This is due to the fact that most people who adopt the rats as pets do not register them with the NARR. Because of this, i will be registering EVERY baby rat born here. This will make my job easier (as long as the adopters keep in contact with me) be allowing ME to accurately update the NARR database. Therefore, helping breeders who have adopted from me, and helping myself, to breed the right way. I will give the rat a registered name, but adopters can call them anything they want. Stats: ---here you can view information on the condition of Raja and her growing litter--- 10/8/06: Raja is getting a baby belly! =) Babies are due the 11th, but might not come until a few days after. The anticipation is KILLING ME! I'll have pictures of Raja and Perry up later! 10/13/06: Raja went into labor around 10:30 pm. She refused to nurse the babies for 8 straight hours. I played mamma rat, and kept the bubs warm. Finally she snapped out of her shock and decided to take care of the babies. Now we have healthy, happy babies! Raja had 13 babies on Friday the 13th and therefore the litter theme has been changed to "A Scary Theme for a Scary Litter born on a Scary Day"--Scary Movie Characters We have 7 Females and 6 Males. Females: 1 Light eye Rex, 4 Light eye smooth, and 2 Dark eye smooth Males: 2 Light eye rex, 1 light eye smooth, 2 Dark eye Rex, and 1 Dark Eye smooth 10/19/2006: I have removed Raja's pregnancy pictures. I still have them, so if you would like to see any of them again, just email me. The babies are doing wonderful, and it seems like we have a nice wide variety of colors and markings. A few more days and i should start being able to identify. I have added pictures, along with my list of possible names for the litter. What to expect: So many possibilities! Mainly: Agouti, Black, Mink, and Havana with: Fawn, Beige, American Blue, American Blue agouti, Cinnamon, Platinum (RED and/or Mink based), and Platinum Agouti being possible. We may also see some other surprises. All dumbo's, Rex and Standard coats. Temperment: Raja is a special girl, she has it all. She is such a sweetheart, and a total rodentist. She's constantly attacking my lips and nose, and sometimes even tries to stick her nose up mine! Such a character, full of love and life. I love her to death! Perry is just...well, Perry! He is so unique, unlike any rat i've ever had. He's so...at peace. He is perfectly happy to cuddle up in his hamock in a rat pile, or to cuddle up with mom on the couch or in the bed. He'll go in the blankets and go down by my feet to settle down for a nap. I think he's a dog stuck in a rat body. I adore him more than words can express! <3 Type: Large babies with future squish potential =). Raja's ears were perfect, but have gone slightly funky. Nothing that Perry's wonderful ears wont fix, though! Both rats are beautiful, and Perry has produced amazing kiddo's for me already, so I'm not asking too much from him. Goal(s): This is an outcross. Please read this article to get a better idea of how outcrossing is a useful tool for rat breeders. Will this breeding, I hope to keep improving upon the dumbo ears, and produce a lovely litter of Mink based colors to later add to the high white line. |

| The babies will be 5 weeks old on November 15th. They can go home then, but i prefer to keep them until they are 6 weeks, which will be the 22nd. We can start making Pick-Up plans now. Thanks =) |
